Numerology - History of Numerology
Increasingly popular today, numerology is an
ancient tradition that has engaged the interest of many of
civilization's greatest minds.
The science of "Numbers", Numerology makes a
fascinating study while making predictions. It is always
important to take a second opinion. Similarly even in the science
of Prediction it is necessary to seek the confirmations of ones
findings through a parallel science. We have always treated
Numerology as a science, which definitely has a correlation with
Astrology. What is this correlation?
The Hindu system bears a direct impact on ones
birth, death, marriage, children etc. Surely there is an element
of such acts being predetermined and in a way pre-destined.
Numerology, like a doctor guides you. Say, if your name has a
certain number or you are born under certain numerical
vibrations- it can fairly predict what would be your basic
characteristics likes and dislikes, marital harmony or discord,
your level of intellect and many such related matters including
love life, professional achievements, honors and distinctions. A
systematic study of Astro-Numerology goes a long way in getting
the best out of one's life and helping to assuage the turbulent
times. Numerology is lucid enough even for a non-expert to gain
from. It is not as transcendental and mystical as the occult
sciences are usually thought to be. Astro-numerology can
efficaciously build a better character and a successful life.
Under its guidance, persons can empirically override unfounded
apprehensions. The predictions, when given with utmost accuracy,
can be guiding hand in the dark.
The right use of names, colors, dress, dates,
and partners, business associates, through numerology assistance
or guidance makes life smooth through proper harmonious
application of cosmic energy. Numerology has been an inseparable
part of Astrology since ancient times and we still treat it as
such.
The Vedic Astrology, as also the other branches
of occult, including Numerology, is based on perception,
observation and experiment. As the criteria of truth, as observed
phenomenon, are carefully analyzed and sifted in a scientific
manner. This ancient heritage is sound and we feel proud of
it.
Name number: Relates to how you express
yourself in the many outer experiences of your life.

your Birth date, and tells a lot about why you are here on Earth
and what you are meant to accomplish.

Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician who lived
from 569-470 B.C., has contributed much for numerology. There is
evidence that numerology was in use thousands of years ago in
India, China, Greece, Rome, and Egypt long before the time of
Pythagoras, who is generally regarded as the "father" of
numerology.
Most of the earliest teachings were transmitted
orally, only to the initiated, because the information was
considered very powerful and sacred. Pythagoras, a philosopher
and mathematician, lived and taught in Southern Greece in the
sixth century B.C.
The teachings of Pythagoras spawned a
philosophical and religious movement, called Pythagorism that
spread throughout the Roman Empire. You were taught his
mathematical theories in high school geometry. Pythagoras' belief
that reality is mathematical that order is created out of chaos
through numbers is the principle on which numerology is founded.
Numerologists believe that everything, including abstract
concepts, can be converted into numbers and that those numbers
have specific meanings.
By finding the number value of any word or
name, you can discover its hidden meaning. The teachings of
Pythagoras were taken up by Plato and reinforced by the writings
of the Jewish Cabala. Continued interest by early Christian
scholars, such as St. Augustine, led to the widespread use of
numerology during the Renaissance. At that time, numerology was
accepted by everyone from the most learned academics to the least
educated laymen.
Numerology, along with astrology, Tarot, the I
Ching, and other occult arts, has experienced a revival in recent
years. For their readings, modern numerologists have adopted the
original Pythagorean system. It is a simple system that assigns a
number value (from one to nine) to every letter of the alphabet:
A is 1, B is 2, and so on.
In standard addition, you add 7+8=15 for the
correct answer. In Numerology, this is not enough: it uses a
further method of addition known as the "Fadic" system, or
"natural addition." This simply means you keep adding two or more
numbers together until you arrive at one single digit. Taking our
example of 78, 7+8 adds up to 15, but in Numerology you add 1+5,
for a final answer of 6. You must then know what each number from
1 to 9 represents.
Numerology is a complex arithmetic system that
reveals your character, personality, and experience through the
reasonable progression of numbers. Numerology provides a complete
personality lifestyle profile when we apply the meaning of
individual numbers to our birth name and birth date.
Each number has certain energies attached to
them. How you act on those energies depends on you. The "energy"
represented by these numbers can have a profound influence on
your personality, health, and well being. Numerology is one way
of studying of the manner in which they reflect certain aptitudes
and character tendencies, as an integral part of the cosmic plan.
Each letter has a numeric value that provides a related cosmic
vibration. The sum of the numbers in your birth date and the sum
of value derived from the letters in the name provide an
interrelation of vibrations.
These numbers show a great deal about
character, purpose in life, what motivates, and where talents may
lie. Experts in numerology use the numbers to determine the best
time for major moves and activities in life. Numerology is used
to decide when to invest, when to marry, when to travel, when to
change jobs, or relocate.
The numbers of our name describe the things we
were born knowing. The numbers of our birth date describe the
things we need to learn. As you examine your Numerology Reading,
you'll find a great deal of insight about yourself.
